We usually see Cindy Sherman through the eyes of her own camera, but here Craig McDean has captured the artist afresh. There’s vulnerability and an exotic, almost fragile beauty to her face, obscured by a spidery black veil. Behind it, there’s just a hint of a smile and a flash in her eyes, as if she knows something we don’t, or shouldn’t, or never will.
