Art+Commerce asked me to make a selection for their Image of the Day feature. I selected an image by my friend Katherine Wolkoff and wrote:

I love this photo. The everyday act of making tea becomes a narrative framed by the position of the camera. In the foreground, the ghostly steam from the teapot, which blocks the woman preparing it. In the background, a pitcher of water on the table, and what looks to be an icy day outside. Three states of water and of life, caught together in an instant. Beautiful and smart.
